So I mentioned to you all in a previous blog post that I re-designed the logo for my independent project client, Mishka Social Services (MSS). In case it wasn’t clear then this was all part of an overall rebrand for MSS that involves building brand awareness.
On May 12, MSS has a big fundraising dinner to help support the projects they are working on. The truth is that we have tried to host a fundraising dinner twice before but it was unsuccessful both times. So for this event to be more successful we are trying to build brand awareness and presence on social media.
To execute this well I created a social media calendar that classifies the type of post that should be made ready for that day (i.e. an image or type driven post). I have also been using the app Planoly which has been helping plan the posts and reminds me of when a post needs to be made.
Some of the components of this social media campaigning include:
- Features of specific volunteers explaining why they think the work Mishka does is important.
- Quotes or sayings that allow us to provide a window into the work we do and why we do it
- Dedicated posts for each of our projects to provide insight into what services we offer.
So far we have seen positive results from being more active on social media. Just as an example over the course of 7 days we had 180 visits to our Instagram profile which is great considering we have less followers than that on Instagram right now.
