Narrative Magazine

The goal of this project was to design a magazine on any topic of our choice. I decided to design a political magazine with two primary goals in mind. First, I wanted to create something that would visually pull people in with its design exploration and go beyond people’s expectations of a political magazine. Second, I wanted to tell the stories of the people whose struggles often do not make it to the front page headlines. I want to take back the narrative for minority populations because I understand the value of visual communication and my role in society as a designer.

In order to achieve these two goals, I choose to use cyan, magenta and yellow as my primary colour palette in an effort to present political stories in a new way. I was also very selective with the kind of content that made it into the magazine and focused on highlighting overlooked communities.
